This Mother’s Day package was designed as a donor stewardship and cultivation piece, leveraging both emotional storytelling and seasonal relevance. By featuring a St. Jude patient (Dakota) with his mother, the creative underscored the role of donor support in preserving precious family moments. The card paired a heartfelt narrative from the patient’s mom with donor-facing messages of strength, love, and gratitude — turning the holiday into a natural touchpoint for deepening connection. Strategically, the piece functioned as a non-ask engagement opportunity: reinforcing donor value, keeping St. Jude top-of-mind, and strengthening affinity ahead of future solicitations. My role included aligning segmentation (ensuring this message reached loyal donors and mid-level supporters), contributing to content direction to balance personal story with institutional voice, and guiding creative execution so that patient artwork, photography, and messaging worked together cohesively. This approach illustrated how mission-driven storytelling can be woven into stewardship streams to increase retention and long-term donor commitment.
